- Dough:
2 boxes of cream cheese (200g each)
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
Salt to taste
- Ground Beef Filling:
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1/4 onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
350g ground beef
1/2 teaspoon of paprika
Ground pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 tomato, diced
1/4 bell pepper, diced
Olives to taste
3 tablespoons of tomato paste
Parsley to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Dough Preparation:
- In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt.
- Add the cream cheese and mix well.
- Gradually add the vegetable oil, kneading until a homogeneous and smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
- Ground Beef Filling Preparation:
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden and aromatic.
- Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned.
- Add the diced tomato and bell pepper, stirring well.
- Season with salt, pepper, and parsley to taste.
- Cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables are tender and the flavors are well incorporated.
- Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- Assembling the Pastels:
- Divide the dough into small portions and roll out each portion on a floured surface, forming thin discs.
- Place a portion of the ground beef filling in the center of each dough disc.
